Checkpoints and save files


A friend came over and we played for a bit. It turns out when we’re both dead and have to go all the way back to the start, things can get a little frustrating! So I spent some time over the weekend implementing a check point system. This ended up with me also creating a saving system which writes out the contents of the game state dictionary to a JSON file.  It all works nicely and feels robust so I’m quite happy. 

I’ve now started on the next cut scene where Harp and Shiny Face grab the first part of the Time Machine. 

It’s starting to feel an awful lot like I might actually get to the end of this demo.
